If you’re looking for a casual place to hang out with your kids or pets, The Yard McKinney has a unique setup that feels more like someone’s backyard than a traditional restaurant. It has a large outdoor patio/yard area, indoor seating, and bar seating, making it a nice spot to relax and spend time with family or friends. I think it would be especially enjoyable during the spring and fall, when the weather is comfortable enough to enjoy the outdoor space. That said, my overall dining experience was disappointing. The restaurant was pretty loud, and the service was not very good. After ordering, we had to wait quite a while for our food, which made the experience even less enjoyable. We ordered tacos and loaded nachos. Everything looked really appealing when it arrived, and the presentation definitely made the food look delicious. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t live up to the appearance. The loaded nachos were okay, but the tacos were disappointing, and the fries were not impressive either. The food didn’t taste as fresh as I expected. For what we received, I also felt the price was a bit high. The atmosphere and outdoor concept are definitely the strongest parts of this restaur

I was pleasantly surprised with Happy Hour prices due to the rain. Nice! The burger was delicious and my drink was very tasty. My server was kind and attentive. A great place!

Got the nachos with chicken on top and the farmers grain bowl. Quick service, and great quality ,delicious food. Got the shady berry and was not disappointed in a refreshing fruity drink.

Had a wonderful experience here! Dave, our server, was incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant has a lovely, inviting atmosphere. It's a surprisingly spacious venue, and I love its prime location near McKinney Square. Parking right next to the restaurant can be a bit tight, but a pleasant 10-minute walk from nearby parking is an easy trade-off. Highly recommend!

I was a little sad about how this place turned out to be. I've lived in McKinney for a very long time and I haven't tried this place until today. Honestly, if you're going for the food, it's not really that worth it. But if you're looking more for drinks, atmosphere and socializing, this place might be fun. I ordered the fried pickles, chicken tenders and a Austin Eastcider Blackberry Cider, while my spouse got the catfish and shrimp platter. For $10 the tray of fried pickles were a little on the small side, my chicken tenders were just okay, nothing special and the batter on them was somewhat burned in a couple of places. The waffle fries that came with them were also just okay, but my spouses food was definitely burned, he said the batter was hard to chew through and he didn't want to touch it, but the customer service was very, very good. I told the waitress about his food and she graciously had it remade at no charge and the chef brought it out himself and apologized, it even included extra fries, so they're very sweet and kind. The cider was actually really good, has a mellow blackberry essence to it and more on the sweet side, so I'd come back for the drinks. Service was defi
